Students in Shavasana for Satyananda Yoga Nidra

Two Levels of Training

Recognized in recent years as a valuable yogic technique, yoga nidra has been adopted by many different styles and practitioners of yoga.
This course is your opportunity to learn Satyananda Yoga Nidra® from teachers within the tradition of SATYANANDA YOGA® through
the Yoga Academy of North America which is affiliated with the Bihar School of Yoga in India.

Level One
Learn how to teach Satyananda Yoga Nidra, a powerful technique for deep relaxation, healing, stress management and personal transformation, to general classes and students with common medical and psychiatric conditions.
The course includes a thorough understanding of the stages of the practice and how the purpose of each stage is validated by consciousness theories and recent brain science.

The first weekend may be attended via webinar for distance students.

This weekend is also available as a stand alone option for those who wish to more fully deepen and establish their understanding and practice.
The second weekend of the course is on-site. Following each weekend,
there is a two-month period of home study, with mentored student
teaching after the second weekend.

Level Two
From the first time the Level One course was run in 2012, our students have been asking for another level of training.

Deepen your understanding of Satyananda Yoga Nidra and how to safely progress your students to aa intermediate level of experience within the practice.  Increase your understanding of science behind the technique and learn to design individualized practices that address the needs of your students and learn student support skills to assist their understanding.

Both weekends are available via webinar for distance students.
Both Courses
Students are provided with recordings of basic and specialized yoga nidras (for depression, insomnia, etc.) and a 125+ page resource folder. Space for each course is very limited.
“We think of yoga nidra as a relaxation practice, a preliminary
practice of meditation, but it is the simplest technique devised to
give the deepest experience of the cohesiveness of the human mind.”
Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati

"I think you all are amazing.  I have gone to various trainings, over many years now, and I have never experienced so much time and attention from teachers before.  There is so much opportunity to learn and ask questions and so much attention paid to the detail of a class recording.  Thanks so much.  You all are doing a lot to bring yoga nidra to a wider audience, and I am very grateful to be taking this class."  --2015
