MahaShivaratri Program

Time: 4PM-6PM ET (USA)
Location: Zoom

Let’s come together, chant together, and lift our spirits collectively as a community to send positivity out into the world.

This two hour program will be live on Zoom and will include an aradhana with mantra, havan, abhishek, and kirtan.

You are welcome to attend the whole program or just a part.
Feel free to listen or chant along.

Words will be shared on the screen. Chanting sheets in Roman and Devanagari script can be viewed on Sri Shiva Stotra Mala from Satyam Yoga Prasad, or downloaded from here.

The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra Chanting for Health & Healing, which takes place every Saturday, will be included in this program as a havan. As per the tradition, we will read the names of individuals, intention/reason for remembrance, and their location before chanting  108 rounds of the Mahamrityunjaya mantra. Please use this form if you wish to include yourself or someone else.

Maha Shivaratri (the great night of Shiva) is an auspicious time for spiritual practice in cultures and communities where Yoga and Tantra are practiced. In Yoga we often speak of "Kundalini rising", when Shakti awakens and moves upward to meet Shiva. At Shivaratri, however,  it is believed that Shiva descends to meet Shakti; it is a time when pure awareness becomes more easily accessible for us to experience.
